Dear Brother Ndoc,
Dëshroj që të gjindemi shëndosh e mirë, gjithashtu gjindem mir edhe un Prela.
I wish that we may be healthy and well; I am doing good, too, Prela, am found well. It has become a long time that I have not received any letter. I am very upset because I do not understand what trouble you have. And I have not written to you either except one letter that I sent you for condolences for father.
I do not know whether you have received it or not. On the occasion of the New Year from you, kin and kindred, friends and well-wishers, I received 22 greeting cards. Two months have passed since the death of our dear father and still from no one have I received any condolence; I am completely astonished. From the death of Father, I am very upset and despairing, not because he died young, but he died despairing only for me.
Ndoc, I ask you how you are with health, with work how you are getting on, how are people in general?
In particular I ask about Nina, how she is, whether she can get up. Is she very upset about the death of Kola, because she had him as the companion of her life and they passed a very long time together.
Ndoc, for me do not worry, because I am well and I pass it well; I have no need for anything; food and clothing I have for this winter, therefore you have no need either to come, nor to worry.
With this, many greetings to all, name by name. Greetings to whoever asks.
Yours,
forever,
Prel Kolë Syku
