The Sun Rises in Spaç

The legend of the forced labor camp and the horrific Spaç prison, the exploitation of political prisoners under miserable living conditions, the consequences and suffering of their families, and the Revolt of May 21–23, 1973, is retold by writer Rovena Rrozhani in a simple style for the younger generation, in the children’s book “The Sun Rises in Spaç.”
Through 7 illustrations in the form of a graphic novella, created by painter Anila Zajmi Katanolli, some of the most dramatic scenes of Spaç are depicted in restrained black-and-white tones, with subtle touches of red, crafted using the carbon technique.
